The Kids’ Table Has Never Looked Cuter

There’s a little secret about holiday dinners we need you to know: the kids’ table is the place to be. All the fascinating questions, life musings, and silly stories happening at this smaller table make for a pretty eventful dinner conversation. Because the memories being made there are just as important as what’s happening with the grown-ups, we love the idea of creating a space for the kids at Thanksgiving and other holiday dinners that is just as beautiful and memorable as the adults’ zone. The lovely ladies of Beijos Events dreamed up an incredible pint-sized Thanksgiving tablescape that we had to share. Read on for three ways to style a kids’ table the adults will be jealous of, as inspired by these festive photos.

Create a durable floral arrangement

At the adults’ table, the bigger space and more dexterous hands at work can accommodate large floral centerpieces in delicate vases. For the kids’ table, follow Beijos’ technique and arrange heart succulents and flowers directly on the table. The low-profile is great for passing food or dealing with any spills. Alternate between a colorful flower and a muted succulent for a picture-perfect look.

Add seasonal touches

Of course, you can’t go wrong setting the table with holiday-appropriate plates, but also consider taking seasonal decor used throughout the home as part of the tablescape. Not only do the embroidered felt leaves complement the bright autumnal leaves take from the yard, they all look completely appropriate set amongst the floral arrangement and the dinnerware.

Use kid-sized utensils

This might seem obvious, but when you’re breaking out the nice silverware for a party of 12 or more, there comes a point when you realize it’s easier for everyone involved to give the kids flatware specifically designed for smaller hands. They’ll love being the only ones with the “fun” fork and spoon while you won’t have to worry about having enough matching silverware at the big table.
